I totally agree with Hilary Mantel. Everything about Kate is 'plastic', i.e. artificial.Probably, she has some ideas of her own, but that's exactly what the members of the royal family do not want her to reveal. They've already had enough with strong and brave Diana (whom I greatly admire for her courage), and, therefore, will not repeat the same mistakes...

In my opinion, Hilary Mantel was completely wrong to compare her to a shop-window mannequin.I agree that it is a realhumiliation which Kate hasn't deserved.Perhaps she is not very emotional, expressive and there is nothing extraordinary about her concerning with her style or character.But this is not a disadvantage|, moreover this is not a reason to call Kate artificial, plastic and etc. Kate is well-educated and well-mannered person (not a doll), bright, noble woman.I was really surprised that Hilary Mantel chose Kate as the object of her cruel and sharp critics and remarks...
I feel sorry for Kate Middleton because in my view she is an intelligent, well-mannered and graceful young woman. She is an embodiment of beauty and feminity. And especially now..when she's expecting a baby.. And, as I see, it wasn't very nice of Hilary Mantel to compare her to a doll. Moreover, I simply can't understand why the writer emphasized the difference between Kate and Diana..Should Kate be like her? I think she has a right to choose herself what is better..
I think Hilary Mantel should not describe Kate Middleton in such a way....compare her with a doll beautifully hand made....even if she thinks that Kate is not worth of being the part of royal family...it could be done in other way....more correctly...It is another time...another life...another views...and another people....Diana is another person...she was brilliant....but it does not mean that Kate must behave her like Diana...She is Kate ....not Diana...)

I understand that people are interested in the issue. And I imagine that Hilary Mantel is better informed on issues like this than the majority of us, who only see a very slim and quite pretty Kate. And I want to say that every person have limitation and we musnt discuss it.
