I think the way the Roma are treated all throughout Europe is disgusting, but it has to be said that many Roma do not do a great deal to improve their image. Choosing begging with children and stealing as career shunning education. Support should be given to Roma to send their children to school, and schooling should be made available to them from first grade to postgraduate through a wide range of measures.
This situation leaves much to be desired... In what century do we live?.... how can it be that in Europe there is such problem with providing people with education, with housing needs ? It is really Europe's biggest sicietal problem...which is to be decided immediately....I just do not understand why the author touches the theme of COMMUNISM, why does he connect this with the time of Soviet Union? it does not have anything in common...Soviet Union provided everybody with work , education and it was real country with real power!!! not what you see today.....
I totally agree with Diana that the system of communism is quite different question. But the author of the article blames the organization of the European Union in the plight of the Roma… I am not defending them but I can explain their relationship as a reaction to the behavior of the Roma.. they have established themselves only from their bad side engaging in theft and fraud .... But maybe when the authorities try to influence the development of a new generation of Roma, it will participate in the normal activities of the society and raise their people to a new level!
The situation in Europe is very bad for Roma. Oh the one hand the governments of the European Union should give them support, because they have innumerable number of problems-with education, social exclusion, habitation, health, employment etc..but on the other hand many Roma don't want to improve their life-style.. it seems that in the 21st century all these problems should have already be solved..but unfortunately, this problem is urgent in all the countries
Schooling, housing, working... Do they really need all these things? They live in a rubbish dump and look happy. Other people had better not impose their way of life to Roma and mind their own business :)
